Seguindo a identidade visual do artista Gus Attab, a proposta, muito além de seu apelo estético, pretende se relacionar simbolicamente com a atual situação de ameaça de extinção da onça pintada, trabalhando também com a temática da dualidade matéria/espírito.
A cor dourada remete à perfeição, raridade, e também à riqueza e ao real valor que o meio ambiente e toda sua diversidade da fauna e flora possuem. Valor este que não é monetário, mas sim imaterial, imensurável.
A fragmentação da camada dourada expressa a extinção, o perigo de uma espécie deixar de existir fisicamente, passando a viver só na memória humana (daí o nome "OBLIVION" - "ESQUECIMENTO"). Por esse motivo, em oposição à matéria, o vasto e obscuro universo que se revela ao fundo faz uma alusão simbólica à mente inconsciente, o "grande mistério."
Following the visual identity of the artist Gus Attab, the proposal, far beyond its aesthetic appeal, intends to relate symbolically with the current situation of the threat of extinction of the jaguar, also working with the matter/spirit duality thematics.
The golden color refers to the perfection, rarity, and also to the richness, and the real value that the environment and all its diversity of fauna and flora possesses. This value is not monetary but immaterial, immeasurable.
The fragmentation of the golden layer expresses the extinction, the danger of a species ceasing to exist physically, living only in human memory (that's why the name "OBLIVION"). Therefore, in opposition to the matter, the vast and obscure universe that is revealed in the background makes a symbolic allusion to the unconscious mind, the "great mystery."
Gustavo's Bio': Gus Attab é artista visual vindo de São Bernardo do Campo/SP e atualmente morador do Rio de Janeiro. Graduado em design de produto e gráfico, se viu cada vez mais atraído pela produção artística e hoje dedica todo seu tempo à ela, resgatando o que desde criança se fascinava em fazer: criar, desenhar, pintar. Seu trabalho é direcionado a diversas mídias e técnicas, com ênfase em muralismo, pintura acrílica, ilustração digital e, mais recentemente, tatuagem.
Utiliza de seu constante estudo em simbologia, misticismo e autoconhecimento para abordar assuntos relacionados a questões internas do ser humano, apoiando-se em processos, vivências e questionamentos pessoais. Para tal, traz uma estética onírica com imagens metafóricas e uso de elementos, texturas e símbolos que, junto à imagem da figura humana, dialogam com a mente inconsciente do espectador.
Gustavo's Bio': Gus Attab is a Brazilian visual artist from São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, currently living in Rio de Janeiro. Graduating in Product and Graphic Design, he became increasingly attracted to artistic production. Today, he dedicates all his time to it, retaking what he has been fascinated by since childhood: creating, drawing, and painting.
His work can various media and techniques, emphasizing muralism, acrylic painting, digital illustration, and, more recently, tattooing. He uses his constant study of symbolism, mysticism, and self-knowledge to address matters related to internal issues of the human being based on personal processes, experiences, and questions. To this end, it brings a dreamlike aesthetic with symbolic images and the use of elements, textures, and symbols that, along with the human figure, dialogue with the unconscious mind of the spectator.
