Core jaguar populations are connected via a series of biological and genetic corridors into a single large-scale ecological unit: the Jaguar Corridor. Considered a keystone in the conservation of the jaguars in South America, \nthe Pantanal plays an strategic role in the maintenance of their population across \nthe area. The Amazon rainforest represents the main area for jaguar conservation. In the southern portion of this vast forest, deforestation advances every year, with cattle ranches and crops replacing forested environments. \nIn this context, Panthera is starting an important project in partnership with Fazenda S\u00e3o Marcelo, in the municipality of Juruena - Mato Grosso, to develop and evaluate anti-depredation strategies that reduce \nthe jaguar-livestock conflict allowing the creation of regional jaguar conservation. These plans ensure \nthe survival of this species considering the sustainable economic use of the Amazon.<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The frontier town of Leticia, in the southernmost tip of Colombia, bordering Brazil and Peru, was the chosen site for the meeting of all the Amazon countries heads of state in 2019 to sign the boldest public agreement \nto protect the Amazon forests and the associated biodiversity: the Leticia pact. The main goal of the Jaguar Parade is to provide a structural and ongoing source of income for jaguar conservation projects. Supported Projects All funds raised by Jaguar Parade NYC from the auction and donations will be donated to our partners\u2019 projects to support conservation strategies in the most varied regions within jaguar territory, such as: Jaguars and Cattle Ranching of Southern Amazon Region Considered a keystone in the conservation of the jaguars in South America, the Pantanal plays an strategic role in the maintenance of their population across the area. In this region, Panthera is based on Fazenda Jofre Velho – located in the northern portion of the Pantanal – and has been monitoring the population of jaguars and their prey for over 10 years, as well as acting as an important center of support for the community and the ecological tourism. Jaguars and Cattle Ranching of Southern Amazon Region The Amazon rainforest represents the main area for jaguar conservation. In the southern portion of this vast forest, deforestation advances every year, with cattle ranches and crops replacing forested environments. In this context, Panthera is starting an important project in partnership with Fazenda S\u00e3o Marcelo, in the municipality of Juruena – Mato Grosso, to develop and evaluate anti-depredation strategies that reduce the jaguar-livestock conflict allowing the creation of regional jaguar conservation. These plans ensure the survival of this species considering the sustainable economic use of the Amazon. In the Heart of the Amazon: Leticia The frontier town of Leticia, in the southernmost tip of Colombia, bordering Brazil and Peru, was the chosen site for the meeting of all the Amazon countries heads of state in 2019 to sign the boldest public agreement to protect the Amazon forests and the associated biodiversity: the Leticia pact. The support of the Jaguar Parade will further the commitments of the pact and strengthen the 2030 Jaguar Roadmap by promoting transboundary conservation and potential economic values of preserving jaguar habitat and its ecosystems. Jaguar conservation from Mexico to Argentina WWF\u2019s Jaguar Conservation Initiative seeks to increase and stabilize jaguar populations, as well as conserve and restore this feline\u2019s habitat and connectivity by 2030 in 15 Jaguar Priority Landscapes that expand over more than 200 million hectares and represent the species' most important strongholds across their range.
